Blue Canvas Contest: Pioneer

Blue Canvas is an excellent network for artists to display their work for free, presenting opportunities left and right - whether to earn a feature in their magazine or win prizes. It is very rewarding to find positive networks such as Blue Canvas and rarely are artists given a shot to have art printed in a magazine. This magazine is sold in Barnes & Noble among other book stores too, receiving plenty of attention.

I submitted my work for their contest, Pioneer, on a whim; "you never know unless you try," and I thought I'd branch out despite my limited comfort levels and irritating insecurity. I feel very grateful to have won! The further I expand my work, the more tension and discouragement I burden myself with. Still, I feel it is only natural for an artist to expect more from their work; to be unsettled over that creates a vicious tumble where we become stuck and plateau. 

With this, I hope I evoke within you a drive to promote your work and display what you create, despite that nagging inner monologue.
